The Cort NJS4BK Elrick NJS 4 is a professional-grade bass guitar that combines traditional tonewoods with modern electronic and design elements. The alder body of the bass offers a balanced tone with a slight emphasis on high mid-range frequencies, making it a popular choice among major bass makers since the 1950s. The Voiced Tone VTB-ST single-coil pickups provide a robust sound with modern clarity, transparency, and vintage warmth, while effectively canceling noise. The bass features a specially designed Bartolini preamp, identical to the ones installed in US-made original Elrick NJS basses, offering a 3-band EQ, 2-way push/pull mid select, and push/pull active bypass for a wide range of tonal possibilities.
The hardware includes the MetalCraft M4 bridge, which focuses on ease of use and greater tone transfer, and Hipshot Ultralite Tuners for improved balance and tuning accuracy. The hard maple neck, attached via a six-bolt asymmetrical pattern, contributes to the instrument's stability and playability, offering a warm, beefy, and punchy tone with a strong upper midrange.
