Overview
The 18 Sound HD3000T is a 1.4" compression horn driver, engineered for use in high-quality audio systems where precise reproduction of medium to high frequencies is crucial. This driver operates at a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, with a power handling capacity of 120W (nominal) to 240W (max). It's designed to provide a coherent and homogeneous wavefront right at the horn's input across its working frequency range of 800 to 20000 Hz. With a remarkable manufacturer sensitivity of 112 dB, this driver is adept at delivering clear, crisp sound, making it a reliable choice for professional audio applications.
At the heart of the HD3000T's superior performance is its titanium diaphragm, anchored to PEN suspensions, produced internally to guarantee an unparalleled response to transients. The diaphragm assembly is completed by a 75 mm (3") EWAL coil in Copper Coated Aluminum Wire (CCAW). The driver employs an exclusive 4-conductor power factor corrector which not only ensures very low distortion but also enhances the reproduction of medium-high frequencies. Moreover, the imposing Ferrite magnet group generates a flux density of 2.0 Tesla within the air gap, which coupled with the use of a demodulating Copper ring, significantly reduces distortion and contributes to achieving an impressive average sensitivity of 112 dB SPL 1W/1m. This meticulous engineering aims at delivering superior sound quality and reliability in demanding audio environments.
